The best way to get rid of bedbugs is not to ever get them in the first place. Easier said than done. How horrible is it that a family on vacation can come home with memories that will last a life time and the way things seem to be going now, a problem that could last just as long. One big problem is resistance to the chemical formulations. A product like catalyst might work wonders on bedbugs, but it is not labeled for them and these days it's taboo to use organophosphates. What we need is a chemical that is formulated differently to break the cycle of resistance. The problem is it takes a million years to get a chemical to market for the pest control industry. In fact, most of the chemicals we use today are the leftovers of the agriculture industry. I believe that the new trap that is on it's way to being brought to market, the NightWatch, will help alot, but we need a home run. A growth regulator specific to the bedbug would be great.
